We took the train directly from Nice to Como, Italy, which took about six hours. Como is the largest city on Lago di Como, and it sits at the southwestern-most point of the inverted Y-shaped lake. We arrived into town around 4:00pm, and, although it was overcast, it didn’t rain – until much later. We familiarized ourselves with the city by walking along the lake-side promenade, and then wandering around the windy, cobbled streets in the old town, stopping at, what turned out to be, our favorite wine bar.
