We started our hike by having lunch in the main square of the village of Valbonne under the market umbrellas of one of the cafés. Then we set out to follow the rivière Brague. You can hike all the way from the village of Valbonne to the village of Biot by following the rivière for about three hours. This time we just hiked in for about an hour and a half and then returned to our starting point and had something cold to drink in the square before driving back home. On a previous hike, we started in Biot and hiked toward Valbonne for about two hours and then back to our starting point in Biot. We would like to figure out how to park our car in Biot, hike to Valbonne, and then take the bus back to Biot.
Of course, it may be different in Valbonne and Biot, but the buses here in Antibes have been on strike for two months. The city of Antibes wants to move the Gare Routière (main bus station) out of the centre ville and over toward Fort Carré, which is less than two kilometers from where it is currently located. The bus drivers do not want to move, so there are no buses and there is no settlement in sight for now.
